ComicMintAI

Should you slab this comic? Do the math first.

Not a grading tool — a decision tool. It reads a photo of a comic, estimates the slabbed value against the real cost of a CGC submission, and returns a verdict: go, no-go, or press it first.

01 / The problem

What made this hard

A grade on its own is useless to a collector — what matters is whether the difference between raw and slabbed value clears the submission fee and the wait. The hard product decision was refusing to output a single confident grade number, and showing a band with reasoning instead.

02 / What we did

Four things,
on every project.

  1. Marketing site with the argument up front

The hero states the actual submission cost and turnaround before it says a word about AI, because the maths is the product. Honesty about uncertainty is the differentiator here, so the copy leans into it rather than hedging.

  2. Search and answer engine strategy

Built for the break-even question in all the forms collectors ask it, plus the title- and key-issue-level long tail. Structured so an answer engine summarising "is it worth grading this comic" surfaces the tool as the way to find out.

  3. Product build

Photo intake, grade bands with explicit confidence, comparable sales pulled in for the valuation side, break-even analysis, a go / no-go / press-first verdict, defect-level reasoning with annotated maps, and collection triage for working through a longbox.

  4. Backend and hosting

Comparable-sales ingestion and caching, the valuation and break-even engine, image processing, and the full deploy, domain and monitoring setup.
